Eugene Kertzman - Split Second Timing came into being in the late nineties when I organised the Wansdyke Triathlon. Using my access database knowledge I wrote a race Timing System. This was used for many years as the manual timing system. The system was refined with Alge Timey hand held devices which automated the data entry and speeded up the process. At this point I also became a timer for Running Imp UK and timed races in Bath, Stratford-upon-Avon, Bognor Regis, Goring and Cardiff.
The Timing business steadily grew and I progressed slowly into chip timing systems using RFID, AMB, Ipico and UHF system in most parts of the UK. Split Second Timing now has it's own Chip Timing Systems, software, UHF chip programmer and printer as well as other race accessories.
Apart from being in the Race Timing business I have been an active runner, triathlete and cyclist having completed the KIMM (x13) now The OMM, the London Marathon (x3), The Hawaii Iron man and may other running races, sportives and triathlons.
I am now a Level 3 British Cycling Coach and coach the Sulis Scorpions in Bath.
